Benign Mesothelioma, Epithelial Mesothelioma

Benign mesothelioma survival rates are a lot better in percentage to the numbers yielded by general types of mesothelioma. Most people infected with benign mesothelioma are males, because most workers in heavy industry factories are men. Females that got exposed to asbestos usually got infected at home because of some construction or insulation materials used in building the house.
Remember, use appropriate methods to avoid asbestos exposure, and if you think your house might contain asbestos related products contact an asbestos removal company.

Benign mesothelioma is a bit easier to treat compared to normal, malignant mesothelioma because it is a contained disease that doesn't spread. Also, treatment costs involved are much lower compared to other forms of mesothelioma, because most of the times chemotherapy isn't needed (which is very expensive). Remember to keep a healthy way of life and avoid asbestos as much as possible. Doctors recommend eating lot's of fruits and vegetables, fresh if possible, to help lower the risk of cancer.

Benign mesothelioma symptoms are similar to pleural mesothelioma, but milder and will not develop in time to become extreme:

    * cough that will not go away
    * chest pain (due to pleural effusion)
    * shortness of breath (due the lack of flexibility in the pleura)

Benign multicystic peritoneal mesothelioma symptoms can also come under the form of night sweats if the type of benign mesothelioma is cystic or multicystic.

Treatment for benign mesothelioma is usually surgery if a solitary fibrous tumor is present. For several benign tumors and peritoneal benign mesothelioma chemotherapy might be a suitable treatment option.
